You need to use better pictures, some are very old-style and might be confusing like the big old Victorian bicycles that no body uses today. Also the vocab choices are so odd, like locomotive, monoplane etc even native speakers wouldn’t need to know such things and its far-fetched that foreigners would need to know or learn such useless vocab.

According to Oxford, wagon in Br English means a railway truck for carrying goods. Americans use freight car. Waggon, in Br English means a vehicle with four wheels, pulled by horses or oxen and used for carrying heavy loads. So one cannot say this word can be written in two different ways when each has a different meaning altogether. As compared with tyre, written in Br English and tyre, written in American English, mean the same thing.

  7. princeicio says:

If waggon or wagon can be written in different ways then why didn’t you point that out in ”tyre” as well?? it can be written like this as well ”tire” in america I believe

    Thanks!

Yes, the long vowel /ɔː/ fits according to the OED. You have a good ear, possibly better than mine.

  18. 19Helga69 says:

Thanks for answering, but I was thinking about using the long [ɔː] instead of the diphthong [əʊ]

  19. Linguaspectrum says:

Your transcription is fine, as well, but the main stress is on the first syllable, not the second.
Thanks for watching and for commenting.
    Best wishes,
